President's Message

Happy New Year and Welcome 2022!

I hope the holidays treated you all well. I am very excited for the new year ahead and all the events and special opportunities our club has planned for the remaining year.

The Joint Armed Forces of Washington Luncheon (JAFOWL) is happening soon!  We hope you will join us on Tuesday March 8th, 2022.  Additional details will come out through our club newsletter and social media in the coming weeks — stay tuned!

Thank you to P.A and Diane for hosting the December Cozy Christmas Morning Bruncheon.  Seeing all of your beautiful smiles, especially from our winners of the holiday slippers contest, warmed my heart.  No doubt it was a wonderful and festive event enjoyed by all.

I am excited to share the outcome of our winter coat drive conducted last month.  Our club was able to donate dozens of coats for local churches and shelters to redistribute.  Thank you for helping us help others during this season of giving.

The ASCGWA Scholarship season is opening up soon.  Look for more details in our newsletter or on our social media, and please help spread the word to our eligible members.  Our Scholarship Chair, Anke Starkey is available to assist with any of your inquiries.  Good luck to all of our applicants!

With New Year’s resolutions and goals for 2022 still fresh in your mind, this is a great time to be thinking about our next club year!  If one of your goals is to spend more time with friends and you are interested in serving on the 2022-2023 Executive or Governing Board please contact our Parliamentarian, Jennifer Stepetic for more details.
