Welcome to the Army Spouses' Club
The Army Spouses' Club of the Greater Washington Area (ASCGWA), a non-profit organization, strives to provide and promote socio-economic and educational outreach to the soldiers, family members, and Department of the Army (DA) civilians assigned to, attached to, or with duty in the National Capital Region (NCR) and to organizations which benefit soldiers, as well as to encourage, support, and maintain interaction of our membership.
As the Army Spouses’ Club, we are proud of our heritage, inspired by our diversity, and excited about our future! We make it easy to connect with old friends and make new ones through a wide array of activities, including monthly luncheons, tours, volunteer and fundraising opportunities, and other social functions. The DC area has so much to experience; why not come join us and experience it with us? We can’t wait to meet you!

It’s finally looking like Fall, the air is a bit more crisp and I am ready for sweater weather. This is one of my favorite times of the year with all the fall colors. Now you can have all your pumpkin spice lattes!
ASCGWA knows how to party and our Oktoberfest didn’t disappoint! It was amazing to see so many of our members dressed for the occasion in traditional Bavarian Dirndl, singing and dancing, and celebrating the spirit of the occasion.
A big thank you to our wonderful board who made everything look so perfect. The decorations, with their sweet details, transferred us all thousands of miles as if we were actually in Munich at the Oktoberfest. Thank you to our fabulous vendors, the staff at Patton Hall Club for their authentic meal, and our fantastic band Lost Lederhosen for their entertainment.
Festival of the Firs is coming up and I am beyond excited to see what beautiful trees and wreaths our members and Zip Code Groups come up with this year. I am ready to see Patton Hall once again transformed into an enchanted winter wonderland.
I’d like to give a big shout out to all who have donated gift cards for our charitable cause in October. We have collected $1,000 for the Holiday Food Basket Program. This is AMAZING!!! Thank you for your thoughtful donations.
The charitable cause this month will be our annual support of the Holiday Toy Drive to benefit children of service members on JBMHH and our local area. Our members do so much to give back to our local community and I want to thank you all for your continuous generosity, it truly is inspirational.
We have great opportunities in the very near future to honor our Soldiers and veterans on November 11th and to celebrate with our Families on Thanksgiving Day. May joy fill your hearts as you thank our many active military service men and women and all veterans for our continued freedoms, and thank you to all of our wonderful members for your service.
Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success!
