Happy New Year and Welcome to 2023!
I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful holiday season with family and friends both near and far. Maybe you got to create a new tradition and were able to make new memories! I am so excited to start the new year with you, our friends at ASCGWA, enjoying all the special events and opportunities our board has planned for the rest of the year.
A special thank you to Jennifer, our 1st VP, for getting us ready for the holidays at our December luncheon. What a delightful time it was to visit with Santa and our special guest Martha Washington. It was so fun and interesting to learn about how the holidays were celebrated at Mount Vernon.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t recognize Viviana Scrivner for creating our beautiful centerpieces that adorned the room. I know that each of our members who were lucky enough to take one home will enjoy them for years to come.
December was a very busy month with all of our tours and events… AND, how happy were we to be able to tour the White House for their Holiday decorations again?! Maybe you were inspired with some ideas for your own decorations next year?
The ASCGWA Scholarship season is opening soon. Look for details coming soon in our Newsletter, Website, or social media outlets. Our Scholarship Chair, Anke, is looking forward to all of this year’s applications.
A few housekeeping details... we understand you might want to sit with a friend or a group of ladies, but please do not to remove a table tent reserving a seat of another member without prior consultation of that person. Thank you!
Our Tours that require an RSVP and payment are non-refundable. The club pays for the spots in advance based on your reservation, and we cannot get our money back. If you have any questions about Tours or luncheon RSVP’s, please contact Connie Semonite our Reservations Chair at email@example.com.
Are you one that has made a New Year’s resolution for 2023? If you haven’t and are looking for ways to spend more time with friends and are interested in serving on the 2023-24 Board, please contact our Parliamentarian, Desiree Moore for more details.
I look forward to seeing you on January 19th for our Breakfast at Tiffany’s Designer Purse Bingo.
Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success!!
