Welcome to The Army Spouses’ Club
The Army Spouses' Club of the Greater Washington Area (ASCGWA), a non-profit organization, strives to provide and promote socio-economic and educational outreach to the soldiers, family members, and Department of the Army (DA) civilians assigned to, attached to, or with duty in the National Capital Region (NCR) and to organizations which benefit soldiers, as well as to encourage, support, and maintain interaction of our membership.
As the Army Spouses’ Club, we are proud of our heritage, inspired by our diversity, and excited about our future! We make it easy to connect with old friends and make new ones through a wide array of activities, including monthly luncheons, tours, volunteer and fundraising opportunities, and other social functions. The DC area has so much to experience; why not come join us and experience it with us? We can’t wait to meet you!
You can enroll online anytime, and join us on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm for our Kickoff at the Spates Community Club on Fort Myer. We will reveal our schedule for the year and “under wraps” tour locations at our Kickoff! You will have the opportunity to meet other members, sign up for Tours, Special Activities, Zip Code Groups, shop from our Ways & Means table, and visit the many organizations represented. Military and community organizations will be on hand so you can sign up or get information in areas that interest you and your family. Door prizes and food are also part of the fun!

Welcome to the DC area and to ASCGWA – the Army Spouses’ Club! Our membership is diverse in age, experience, and perspective. Whether this is your first PCS, fifteenth PCS, final PCS, or you stopped moving years ago, there are others just like you within our membership: there is a place for everyone and we are so glad you found your way to us!
I am a firm believer that every duty station has the potential to be the best ever, especially if you meet the right people. One of my favorite sayings is, “Find your tribe. Love them hard.” Finding your tribe soon after arriving at a new location is often difficult. For many, this is especially so upon arrival in the DC area. We are geographically dispersed, often do not have a traditional unit that binds us, and might live in a civilian community for the first time. Join us this year – we will be your tribe. Be a part of the winning #ALLARMY team!
Be as involved as you like. Do it all, or join us as your schedule permits. There is no participation requirement or expected time commitment. This is your club! Make the most of the opportunities that appeal to you: explore our newly designed website where you can learn more about us, check out affinity groups you can join, and discover ways to get involved.
Like what you see and want to be part of the team that makes it all happen? Contact me to learn more about opportunities to serve as a board member or committee chair. We’d love to have you serve alongside us! Together, we will make 2018-2019 our best year ever.
