President's Message

What an incredible year it has been for our Army Spouses!  I am honored to have been your club President for these last two years.  I have been blessed to serve with the hardest working, caring, and most creative ladies, who have tirelessly dedicated their time and energy into making each event, tour, or gathering special for all of our members.  I will forever cherish this time and am thankful for your support and friendship throughout the years.

We are blessed with the support of our Honorary Officers and Advisor, Maria McConville, Alexandra Grinston, Patricia George, and Cindy Risch.  Thank you for all you do to support ASCGWA.

With the Spring Luncheon and Auction behind us, I want to thank each of our members for their generous contributions and efforts towards making this event a huge success.  Mandy Sammons did a phenomenal job with displaying the variety of baskets and our 2nd VP, Jennifer Uhlman showed her incredible creativity with all the beautiful centerpieces.  Thank you to Becki Chambers for once again serving as our auctioneer - a good time was had by all our members in attendance.

As we move towards the close of the club year, there are so many wonderful activities still ahead.  Beginning with our annual JAFOWL event scheduled for Tuesday, May 16th, at the Army Navy Country Club.  Please join us in celebrating our guest of honor, the Honorable Christine Wormuth, the Secretary of the Army!

Then get ready to join us on May 18th luncheon:  Red, White, and Blue Salute to Military Spouses as we welcome our guest speaker Mrs. Kathleen Palmer, from MISSION: Milspouse.  Our charitable cause will go to supporting MISSION: Milspouse as they strive to empower military spouses with resources, supporting them to conquer adversity, foster confidence, and thrive in this military life.

Lastly, I am very excited to announce the election of our new club President, Connie Semonite, and other members of our Executive Board, which can be found within this newsletter.  I am confident that this club and our members are in great hands, and I am excited for the many wonderful opportunities and adventures to come!  If you are interested in becoming a part of this gifted team, please contact our Parliamentarian, Desiree Moore, for more information.  Our mission to inspire friendship, fellowship, and service to our community depends on the talents and support from those who lead it.

I wish you and your Families a safe and wonderful month, honoring and remembering the service and sacrifice of our Service Members.   And Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful moms!

Hugs,

Ramona Smith
